I have been a student of Mr. Hong for 17 years since he came to our school in grade one and selected me to join the Hangzhou Philharmonic Angel Chorus. I have been in the choir for more than 10 years. When I was young, my dream was to be an opera or musical actress, director and host, and travel around the world. Ms. Hong gave me many opportunities to perform various musicals, host various concerts, go to competitions around the world, and encourage me to keep learning Musical Instruments.
Music has always been the purest and happiest part of my growing up, and the Philharmonic Angel and Mr. Hong are also the people who most encouraged me to pursue my dreams. When I grew up, I naturally wanted to sing and act on Broadway. I wanted to be a diplomat and an NGO.

In the summer, I did fieldwork in Israel and Palestine for a paper on Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, meeting scholars of various schools, military government officials, party leaders, civil rights fighters and independent artists every day.
On the day of leaving Turkey, there was a terrorist suicide attack at Istanbul airport. After being exposed up close to the outrageous lies of politicians and religious leaders in the Middle East, being close to fire, and surviving a terrorist attack, I couldn't close my eyes and see someone crying on the other side of the world, and then wake up and think it was a happy and wonderful day. I had to tell more people what I had to say to wives and parents who had lost loved ones to the war, to refugees who had lost their homes overnight to the military occupation, to artists who had held hands and sung at the point of a gun. I wanted to create, I wanted to do something authentic, something universal about love and peace.
#At the end of June 2016, while visiting the Blue Mosque, three suspected terrorists were arrested. I naively thought Istanbul would be safe if they were arrested, but soon another extremist group attacked the airport in the very evening when we were supposed to be leaving. Friends and relatives were very worried when they saw the news and couldn't get in touch with us. Fortunately, we were safe.# So when I returned to the United States, I spent more than a year preparing, writing and rehearsing, and finally brought to the stage the story of how parents who had lost their children in military conflict faced the souls of enemy soldiers, donated their children's organs to the youth of an enemy nation, and chose love and reconciliation over hatred. The play touched and inspired a lot of people, was very popular and successful, and it also strengthened my determination to create a work about love and peace.
From then on, I moved from the stage to the backstage, and really began to shift the focus of study and work to the study and accumulation of backstage creation. Films, plays, musicals, TV plays, ballets, TV variety shows and symphonic audio-visual concerts, I strive to seize all opportunities to bring my beautiful, moving and loving beliefs and stories to a wider audience. I've been behind the scenes for four years.

I come from a musical family. My father is the flute chief of the symphony orchestra, and my mother is the choreographer and dancer of the dance troupe. At present, I am working as a professional harp teacher and a harp chamber orchestra teacher in the affiliated music school of Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. When I was studying in the United States, I also participated in many concerts and served as the principal harp, including Carnegie Hall, Boston Symphony Orchestra Concert Hall, Houston Symphony Orchestra John Concert Hall, Tsai Performing Center and other concert halls.

In this concert, I accompanied several choral works of the concert with the young player of the Angel Harp Ensemble. Although this is the first time to cooperate with the Philharmonic Angels Chorus, we are confident that the heavenly chorus and the celestial harp will match very well. In preparation and rehearsal, we also encountered a lot of difficulties. Because the harp instrument is very popular in China, the price of the instrument is relatively expensive, so there are very few people to learn it. Therefore, it is very special to participate in this concert in the form of "Harp Ensemble Ensemble". On the one hand, it can make new attempts for harp in different fields and more performance possibilities. On the other hand, it also shows the beauty of Musical Instruments, so that the public can feel the beauty of music closer.
But it was very difficult to realize at the beginning. We have a lot of children are students new to the study of the harp soon, including a child learned four months alone, came to power in a few other children learn the longest no more than 2 years, though we were just learning soon, but the child to learn harp of determination and perseverance, passion for the stage, the pursuit of art gives me a great power, Every rehearsal made great progress. As a professional teacher in the Conservatory of Music, in addition to my busy school schedule, I am currently assisting the students with the training for several international harp competitions, plus the rehearsal for this concert. When everything is going on at the same time, it is quite a challenge for me and my children.
None of us thought that the biggest challenge of the concert would be the water splashing from the fountain and the sudden rain during the rehearsal. The pedal harps we prepared for this performance are all very good, made of whole wood, and all the strings are made of sheep gut strings. All the harps in total have more than 2 million strings. If the strings are exposed to rain or moisture, at least the strings will break, and if the heavy ones are exposed to moisture, they will crack or even crack. It is very difficult to repair and restore wood cracked by damp, which will cause great regret and loss. Therefore, after the rain on the rehearsal day on the 17th, everyone was particularly suffering and nervous. One of the young players quit out of love for the piano and uncertainty about the weather on the next day.
I advance and all parents and children do a good job of ideological work, do not force anyone to come, prepared for the worst. However, on the day of the performance on the 18th, the dedicated and earnest children still came. They may not be the most outstanding ones in their majors so far, but they are the ones who are the most persistent and have the most faith in music among all my students. They know that if it rains, the piano will have what consequences, but for the music, for the stage and the engagement with the world or no hesitation to come.
The bad weather made me think for several times that we could not perform. I was devastated when I thought that all the efforts and hopes of all the people might not be realized due to the bad weather. I also asked the children and parents many times before going on stage, that the light rain will not stop, is certainly harmful to the instrument, who is willing to go on with me, do with the war ready to go to the front like.
When the concert song "My Neighbor Totoro" was played, it was still raining. One of the students and I both cried. Was it really like this? Does God really want to see this result? I told them, we have to wait, as long as we can put on one show tonight, we have already succeeded!
